WASP TOUCH AUTOMATIC SPIRAL PLATER

The WASP Touch is the latest spiral plater designed for microbiology laboratories dealing with high-throughput workflows. This device is engineered to dispense precise volumes of liquid samples in an Archimedean spiral pattern onto the surface of a rotating agar Petri dish. Extremely easy to use, it offers substantial economic and productivity gains by eliminating the need for serial dilutions.

The system features the AIMS software (Automated Intelligent Monitoring Software), which guides users through daily setup and verification routines, ensuring uninterrupted operation and consistent, reproducible plating.

Precise volumes of cleaning solution are automatically dispensed to ensure effective and consistent disinfection, thanks to the patented FlowSense system. The cleaning module is compatible with 1L or 2L autoclavable bottles, allowing for hundreds of cleaning cycles.

With flexible plating profiles on a single Petri dish, the WASP Touch enables colony enumeration of bacterial and fungal samples across a range of 20 CFU/mL to 2 × 10⁶ CFU/mL, covering up to 5 log₁₀. An optional extension pack is available to expand capabilities, including a higher number of replicates, linear plating patterns, and a wider range of spiral profiles.

The WASP Touch stands out with its intuitive full-color touchscreen, making operation seamless. In addition, the absence of an external vacuum pump saves valuable bench space.

Spiral plating is fully documented and validated for accurate enumeration of microorganisms according to ISO 4833 and 7218 standards, as well as AOAC 977.27.
