AUBRET: Dilution connected to the LIMS

Using DILUWEL and LIMS saves time and reduces errors. The steps are simpler, and each result is clearly identified.

French specialist in salting and processing pork food, Aubret operates four production units where nine laboratory technicians ensure the quality of the finished products and manufacturing surfaces on a daily basis.

As soon as it is received, the sample is recorded in the LIMS

Ms. Mahéo described how the microbiology laboratory works. Our visit reveals the entire process a sample undergoes, from its arrival to the final verdict.

As soon as it is received, the sample is recorded in the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). The software instantly generates traceability labels that will follow each step, from the preparation of the sample dilution to the analysis of the plates. For this preparation, Aubret relies on DILUWEL: after scanning the sample, the diluter receives the exact weights directly from the LIMS and automatically dispenses the appropriate diluent, ensuring precision and saving time.

In case of non-conformity, the quality department is immediately alerted

Once the suspensions are ready, the technicians perform decimal dilutions and inoculate Petri dishes with various culture media, sometimes poured by hand depending on the bacteria being sought.

The Petri dishes are then placed in an incubator; once growth is complete, the colonies are counted and the results entered into the LIMS. In case of non-conformity, the quality department is immediately alerted.

All final reports are made available to customers via the LIMS platform, ensuring transparency and responsiveness. The close integration between DILUWEL and LIMS has streamlined weighing, reduced handling, and enhanced traceability, a major asset for the laboratory’s efficiency.
